Hilton Head Plantation Hilton Head Plantation is one of Hilton Head's largest and most
age-diverse residential neighborhoods, spread over four thousand acres between
the Intracoastal Waterway and Port Royal Sound. It is home to the Country Club
of Hilton Head's semi-private eighteen-hole golf course (designed by Rees
Jones, who also designed the plantation's award-winning Oyster Reef Golf Course
and Bear Creek Golf Course). The plantation has a fourth, private course
created by Gary Player and Ron Kirby, which is called Dolphin Head. Besides
its many golf options, the plantation also provides access to two miles of
beach, a plantation community recreation center, shared gardening space,
numerous scattered community swimming pools and tennis courts, Old Fort Pub
Restaurant and Skull Creek Marina. There are two nature conservancies which
possess beautiful, long nature trails and boardwalks through the marsh.
Residents can also walk across a narrow isthmus connection the plantation to
Pine Island, and approximately thirty-acre streth of preserved land surrounded
by the beach. An extensive leisure path system runs through the
community.
